Military & Defense

Soldiers have been blogging the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq since their inceptions.  Their detailed accounts of both carnage and compassion has been met with lauds and criticism alike.  Unlike reporters they cannot be "un-embedded" like Zoriah Miller .  The Nation ran a story on the phenomenon, describing the governments worries over Operations Security and respecting bereaved families.
